Fleet upgrades...

Sedan
- Lexus LS.  The fleet replacement programme continues with the introduction of a Lexus LS. This vehicle provides us with reliability, comfort, plenty of leg and luggage room, quietness and good looks. No surprise then that a second Lexus is on the way!

A notable Vehicle Dependability Study has awarded the LS model ‘Number 1 in Vehicle Dependability’ for 15 consecutive years, in the large premium car group.

4x4 Mercedes ML500.  Ross' private vehicle has joined the fleet! He always maintained that it would never happen. This vehicle is 'top of the range' and a delight to travel in.

Van - Mercedes Sprinter.  We have recently taken possession of a new Mercedes Sprinter. It is the epitomy of luxury.

We are very pleased with these additions to the fleet. They meet all of our stringent requirements and provide our customers with an excellent standard of comfort and reliability.

Featured service... Sightseeing from Queenstown Airport

Combining an inward airport transfer with two hours sightseeing is a great way to save both time and money. It's also a fitting introduction to Queenstown and its many sightseeing opportunities and adventure activities.

Following collection from Queenstown airport, the tour proceeds via beautiful Lake Hayes where the Amisfield Winery is located. There is time for a quick viewing stop at the Kawarau Bungy Bridge, home of the world’s first commercial bungy jump. Then travel past the Arrowtown Golf Club and on to the historic settlement of Arrowtown itself. Enjoy a quick stroll through the town’s main street and browse the eclectic boutique stores and galleries. Pass by the Coronet Peak ski area and Arthurs Point, before reaching central Queenstown where clients are delivered to their accommodation.

This is a popular option for our clients arriving on early morning flights, as it allows time for hotel rooms to be readied before check in. In fact it's a great option for any time of the day, as it combines an airport transfer discounted by 50% with an enjoyable orientation tour of the area.

Behind the scenes with Greg Marett...

Behind the scenes with Greg Marett...

Growing up in Queenstown provided the perfect environment for a career in tourism for Greg, now a   key member of Limousine Services Queenstown’s management team.

When Greg left school he jumped straight into the family’s Queenstown jet boat operation, Helijet, as       a jet boat driver and sales and marketing executive.

Wanting to further his career, Greg went to work for Travel Corporation for six years. He started off as a Travel Manager for the company’s youth brand, Contiki, in New Zealand and on the east coast of Australia and then as Tour Director for two of Travel Corporation’s other brands, Trafalgar Tours and AAT Kings. This was followed by two years working in the company’s head office in Auckland, selling outbound tours to Europe and Australia.

Home beckoned, so Greg and his partner Jo moved back to Queenstown in 2003. Greg dabbled in real estate for 12 months before securing a role as GM for one of Queenstown’s leading adventure tourism operations, Shotover Canyon Swing.

However, after only six months in the job, his family purchased Limousine Services Queenstown, where Greg now brings a wealth of tourism and guiding experience to his role in operations and as a driver/guide.

“It’s fantastic being part of a family business and while it can be very busy, it’s also very rewarding to see happy customers each day,” said Greg.

When not at work, Greg spends time with his family, which also includes Liam (4) and Jessica (2).

“We’re busy enough, but when we do have spare time we love to explore the outdoors together and we’re very good customers of the local pool!"

"Walking is man's best medicine.” – Hippocrates (460 BC - 377 BC)

Sam Summers Hut
The Queenstown area  is home to some breathtaking scenic walks and the Sam Summers Hut walk is no exception. The walk is part of a  larger loop track known as the Twelve Mile Loop. You can choose to walk to the hut and back, or continue around the loop.

Gold fever attracted many hopefuls to this area. It was mined periodically between the 1860s and 1930s. A large sluiced canyon, a tailrace tunnel and an old stone hut are a few of the relics to be found here.

The track climbs through native beech forest, high above 12 mile creek gorge, before dropping down to cross a side creek. As you leave the creek, look out for the old hut ruins hidden in the bush.

Times: Loop Track 3hrs, Sam Summers Hut Loop 1hr, Lake Dispute Lookout Loop 2 hrs. Grade: Medium fitness required.
